Today, I am sharing five of the tools I use to make my posts bloggerific! I realize “bloggerific” is not a real word, but bloggers LOVE to use fancypants made up words all the time. Why can’t I join in on the fun! LOL
Some of these essentials are quite new to me, if you can believe that. However, each one has helped me in their own way to blog more efficiently. AND they’ve made my content look better and more in line with my brand. Let’s get started, shall we?
I don’t know what I was doing with my life before discovering Canva. This online tool is EVERYTHING. It contains thousands of free and moderately cheap design elements that help me create all the snazzy graphics on my blog. Before I was comfortable with the site, I selected from their gigantic library of templates. Now, I create my own looks like a (semi) pro! And what’s cool is that you’re able to imput the HTML Color Codes from your blog’s overall design to make sure that it is the perfect match for your brand. And while we’re on the subject of color codes!
You LOVE your blog design. You love the colors you’ve selected. Now, it’s important to ensure that everything you create for your blog works well with the design. Enter Colorzilla. This nifty Google Chrome extension is a color picker and eye dropper tool that will tell you the exact color codes associated with your blog’s design. It’s how all of my graphics contain my blog’s blue and pink so seamlessly.
How do I get my awesome product photos?!? The answer is simple. Gallerify is the powerful image downloader that pulls all the photos from the web for you to save to your computer. This Chrome extension prevents me from downloading the wrong sized image, because it will let you know the dimensions of every photo BEFORE you download it! The extension separates the photo by type, so if you want a gif, you’ll get a gif. Easy, peasy!
I’ve been using CoSchedule for less than a month, and already it’s made scheduling and promoting content on my blog much, much easier. Facebook. Pinterest. Instagram. Twitter. Tumblr. Google+. You can schedule promotion of your newest blog post that will be sent at the best time to ensure maximum engagement. Although it’s NOT cheap (Plans start at $39.00/month), I feel like it’s well worth the price! Imagine how easy it would be to schedule promotion on the day of your post, the day after, the next week, month, year!? And you do it FROM your blog!!!
Even though I’ve switched to CoSchedule for the promotion of my blog, I still use Hootsuite for all my social media-specific content. Thursday Affirmations, Weekly Quotables, Treat Yo’ Self Tuesday… I create and schedule these posts for two months in advance. This way, I don’t have to worry about it week-to-week, and can focus on creating new content for the blog instead!
From free to fee, there is a huge assortment of tools which can help you take your blog to the next level. These are the ones I use the most, and I consider them to be the strongest weapons in my badass blogger arsenal!
